One version to rule them all.

Yay! Leopard is coming today. Finally, my Boot Camp will become a real program, just like Pinocchio.

“We think Leopard is the richest OS X release yet,” Brian Croll, Apple’s senior director of Software Product Marketing, told Macworld. “There is one version of Leopard — the ultimate version.”

Not four versions, and half the price of Vista. Oh yeah, and it’ll work, too. Nice feature, that.

Ok, just to play devil’s advocate…

Isn’t Leopard just another version of OS X? Like Cheetah, Panther, Cougar, Lynx, Alley Cat, etc…

Isn’t this like multiple versions of the same OS like Vista – just spread out more and you don’t have the ability to choose the best right now, but have to wait for a better version later?

Granted, Leopard may be awesome, but I think the comparison to Vista may be off target.

    Vista sucks.

Your impression of Leopard thus far?

I used it to resurrect my old MDD desktop, which is terrific. I’m gonna try playing EQII on that now (there’s a bug that I think is Intel Dual Core related). Haven’t put it on my MacBook Pro yet.
