Welcome back, Sid Gillman.

The St. Louis Rams’ play-calling last year stunk. They’ve sacked their offensive coordinator, and Al Saunders is the new guy. Al served under Don Coryell and Dick Vermeil, and that means he’s part of the marvelous legacy of Sid Gillman, architect of the best offensive system ever, and my personal favorite.

This is what we call in the sports category “Good News(TM).”

As a Rams fan, I’m excited that Saunders is heading ‘back’ to the Rams. His system being similar to Martz, except with a lot more running involved, is something to make me excited for this season. The Rams should be set to do what they didn’t do in 2007 (two things to be exact) — 1.) win, and 2.) take risks.
