Jeff Beck at Ronnie Scott’s.

A recent Jeff Beck tour ended with a performance at Ronnie Scott’s club. We happened to catch the two-hour filmed event last night on Palladia (I love that network!) and it was completely awesome. The director understood that we just wanted to watch the band play. It’s a great concert film.

You can watch Jeff do his arcane magic on the Strat, but of course that doesn’t explain how he does what he does. The bass player is an Australian prodigy named Tal Wilkenfeld. One highlight was a duet with Eric Clapton playing “You Need Love,” the song that Zep ripped off for “Whole Lotta Love,” with Page and Plant in the audience! Here’s a tidbit with Jeff playing the vocal to a Beatles song. Incredible stuff.
