Jimmy Page gives us another reason why there is no Led Zep for your plastic guitars.

, but if you start with the first track on the first album, ‘Good Times Bad Times,’ and you think of the drum part that John Bonham did there, how many drummers in the world can actually play that, let alone dabble on a Christmas morning?” Page said. “There could be a lot of alcohol consumed over Christmas, and you still aren’t going to get it.”
So the drum parts are too hard to play, and the drummer is dead, BTW, so that’s why we’re not releasing it. Let’s not talk about The Who and Keith and John or anything.
It’s the legal issues, isn’t it? Zep got into big trouble for ripping off blues artists and not giving them credit. They weathered this storm once but they don’t want it to eat up their retirement fund. It ain’t gonna happen.

With all due respect to John Bonham, there is no way a Led Zeppelin song would be more daunting than some of the current beasts of drum tracks present, like the Rush And Avenged Sevenfold songs, and the two bears from NIN, and Run to the Hills. It’s not a statement that any of those drummers are better than Bonham, just that the reasonable difficulty limit for drum tracks in these games has been reached. There’s still room for a Through the Fire and Flames-esque mega track for drums, but that won’t be found in Zeppelin.
Bands reacting like this bother me. It’s part of the reason I don’t laud Tool as much as I used to (though there are plenty of disgusting drum tracks there, like Ticks and Leeches). It’s a game. No one is professing it to be anything more than something fun to do. It won’t discredit your musical integrity to include yourself, in fact, artists from Aerosmith to The Who to Thin Lizzy have seen enormous upswings again in the popularity of their music.
For any band out there, Rock Band and Guitar Hero are a means of providing your band with even more longevity and to gain even more respect for the skills of your band. Not many had even heard of Herman Li until GH3 came out, and I can’t imagine anyone now talking about the ease of matching him on guitar.
But for many of us, it is fun at least to try.

It’s a legal issue alright – they’re not giving their master tapes to the game companies. Turning your life’s work into a video game doesn’t appeal to everyone.
Either it’s enough for you to love to listen to the music, to play drums, bass, or guitar, or to appreciate great record producing, or it’s not. If not, that says more about you than it does about Jimmy Page.
